But what if I told you
that you can find happiness

Trust me,
it’s definitely not what you think.

All of us chase a certain lifestyle
We all dream about what our lives should
or could be

I want to travel and discover the world
I want to get a PHD in science
I want to raise a family and spend quality time with my kids
I want to create my own company
I want to build my dream house with a view on the ocean
I want to grow and cook my own food

And these things are important
because they’re connected with our values and
they’re what keeps us going forward.
This dreamy lifestyle we all chase
is our FIRST LOVE.

And we fall so hard for it
that we become sure
it’s the one.
OUR TRUE LOVE STORY
meaning,
to build a better life
for ourselves
and for the people we love

But
something is missing
in this love story,

It might not feel like a big deal
but there is a red flag here
and we tell ourselves
it’s ok
not to face it

This love story is sort of focused on self-happiness
and it’s basically what society expects from us

This love story doesn’t always include supporting each other
as human beings,
as one species
to face challenges together.
It is not a priority.
Think about it.
It’s not a priority to care about homelessness
It’s not a priority to stand for social justice
and it’s not a priority to support those who desperately need help

In fact, our first love story is not really doing us a favor.
In a way,
piece by piece,
it’s taking away from us something very important
Our humanity

Because
in a non-straightforward way,
it's teaching us that it's ok
to care less
about people we don’t know
and that’s why we have this
and this

Just because I don’t see climate change, doesn’t mean it’s not affecting people’s lives and mother earth.
Just because I don’t know who makes my clothes, doesn’t make it ok to support those who exploit them
Just because I don’t know a black person, doesn’t make it ok to ignore the BLM movement

So,
what if we start a second love story?
A more universal one
A love story about all of us,
Human beings
Other species
and Mother Earth.

And don’t get me wrong, no one is making you break up with your first love
Absolutely not,
it is as much important as the second love story.
we just need to find balance between the two of them.
So
What if we come up with a happy and healthy love triangle?

A love triangle where we can reach our goals, by uplifting others
A love triangle where we can feel supported as we support others
A love triangle where we can enjoy the beauty of mother earth as we take care of her

Because when we come together,
(blm, climate change, social justice, human rights, fair wages, better living conditions..)
as a community
or as one species
something phenomenal happens
the change we deeply aspire to see
happens

Imagine
If each one of us

uplifts someone who is left behind, in any way they can (supporting ngo, social brands, volunteering, tutoring in class, offering a meal)

supports a good cause the way they can (global warming, sustainable living, renewable energy, education in developing countries)

or protects those without a voice (animals, oceans, wildlife)

Wouldn't it make a difference in your day,
to treat others the way you want to be treated?

Like
to give your seat in the subway to someone who needs it more
to be nice to the checkout person in the supermarket
to speak out against bullies at school or anywhere else
to see the human being in your coworker, your boss, your employee, your postman, your nurse, your babysitter...

A heartwarming love triangle
and not just the only love story society made us believe is in there for us

We can have it all.

A love triangle
about all of us
with no drama
no shedding tears
and no broken hearts
is perhaps what we need the most, as humans, as global citizens,
because the happiness we’re all looking for
sometimes, hides in a simple act of caring.
